No more abortions in KC, MO!
Planned Murderhood in Kansas City, Missouri, at 47th and Harrison, announced the first week of June they would do no more abortions! On the last week of June, late-term abortionist George "Killer" Tiller aborted his public relations machine as he hunkered down to fight new laws prohibiting late term abortions and mandating parental consent!

On Saturday, July 18, the Des Moines Register said Tiller vowed to continue abortions despite the law which the legislature had aimed specifically at him. Tiller said he would do them a little differently so as to remain within the law. His administrative director, Dena Vogler, explained, "We are not doing the procedure that the public normally envisions when they hear about this term [partial birth]. We are providing full cranial anesthesia, which causes fetal death, and we are in fact aspirating [sucking] a portion of the cranial contents in order to comply with the Kansas law."

(Huh? The best interpretation I can make out is that by killing the baby BEFORE sucking out its brains, so that the "fetus" is no longer "viable" by the time the sucking begins, that escapes the law's definition of partial birth abortion as "evacuation of all or a part of the intracranial contents of a VIABLE fetus prior to removal of such otherwise intact fetus from the body of the pregnant woman". But the law appears to prohibit ALL abortions after 27 weeks.)

On Monday, July 20, Kansas City papers reported that Governor Bill Graves has ordered an investigation whether Tiller is, indeed, doing abortions in violation of the law! Graves had earlier been against the partial birth ban. But Miller, a conservative on his own staff, had vowed to run against him if he vetoed the ban; now that Miller's campaign is strong, Graves is acting rather prolife!

Where is "Dr." Crist, formerly of Planned Murderhood's Dismemberment Den (DD) of Kansas City at 47th and Harrison? Has he moved to St. Louis, where he has been going every Saturday for the past two years? Planned Murderhood has just built its regional office in St. Louis. They bought the very large DD in Fox Hill, an area of Overland Park, Kansas, next to Kansas City KS, and they purchased Reproductive Health Services in St. Louis.

Antiabortion firebrand Regina Dinwiddie of Kansas City says Crist has been around less since November, when he killed his fourth mother. If indeed he retreated to headquarters, the interns who had been helping at 47th and Harrison would have had to leave too, because a health law prohibits interns from practicing unless their medical director is no more than 15 minutes away.

Picketer Gene Fry doesn't know if the closing is anything more than a consolidation; he has no reason to believe that every single abortion that would have been committed at 47th and Harrison (2,000 per year!) will not now simply be moved to Fox Hill.

But picketer Kitty Koon, Dinwiddie's mother, says it is unreasonable not to acknowledge there is at least a bit of victory here. The 47th and Harrison facility (which is still open; but they don't do abortions) was in a poor, black area, surrounded by their favorite customers. They won't all follow Planned Murderhood to their new high-rent DD. And even if they did, how would they find it? THEIR NEW BUILDING DOESN'T HAVE THEIR NAME ON IT! Just an address!

By the way, the address is 109th and Roe.

No kidding! Planned Murderhood bought the former Women's Clinic, and now they have no name on their building!

And another thing, Kitty notes: Congress is on the verge of passing a national law which will prohibit crossing state lines to evade a state's "parental consent" laws. If that passes, the three DD's situated in Kansas City, Kansas will be off limits to the residents of Kansas City, Missouri!

Kitty notes that the reduction of Kansas City Area clinics from four to three saves considerable security costs. The definite victory Gene Fry sees is that "it gives us a chance to cover all the clinics. The two small ones are a few blocks from each other and have the same doctors".

The interns who assisted "Dr." Crist were provided by St. Luke's hospital, supposedly a "Christian" organization. It is part of the University of Missouri School of Medicine. The hospital couldn't do abortions at the hospital because of state funding requirements, but two interns, Pamela Solomon and Craig Hinkle, said they had a legal right to learn abortions. So the hospital sent them to Planned Murderhood. There may have been two more interns who joined them later.

Kitty says "We gave St. Luke's a fit. We picketed them. We picketed their celebrity golf tournament last year. This year the big names didn't come. That was a victory."

The terse announcement, that the 47th and Harrison building would stop doing abortions, was made by TV news during the week after Memorial Day.

Regina Dinwiddie says that was but a few days after the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, when Regina had opened her radio "The Rescue Show" with:

"This is Regina Dinwiddke, coming to you, live and alive in Jesus Christ. But I'm not coming to you from Kansas City. In fact, I'm not going to tell you where I'm coming from. I'm coming to you from ground Zero of a gathering of the most determined Rescuers across America." The rest of her 30-minute show presented an aloquent case for the forcible termination of abortion servers by Linda Wolf of McMinnville, Oregon, and by Johnny Brockhoeft, making his first public appearance after 7 years in jail and 3 years of prohibition against communication with pro-baby-ers. (Notes about that show follow.)

Did the Kansas City show, which was carried on the most powerful Christian radio station in America with a signal reaching 150 miles, play a role in the decision to close the clinic? Suspicions are very difficult to confirm or deny. Could it be that St. Luke's hospital took away Dr. Crist's privileges there, and that was the final straw? The hospital will not tell prolifers, even though such information is normally public. Would it be unreasonable, in the face of refusal to comment, to theorize that his privileges were revoked, or that revocation was threatened, as a consequence of his fourth murder, the straw being Regina's show?

On one hand, we should be cautious about giving ourselves credit for making things happen which we have not yet confirmed. On the other hand, we should be cautious about NOT giving GOD credit for answering our years-long, tears-soaked prayers, after we receive as much evidence as we can dig up!

Regina explains that "Rescue", in her radio show's name, stands for Rescue Every Single Child Under Execution. She explains that abortion is properly called execution, not mere murder, because it is government-endorsed and protected.

Meanwhile, in Wichita, George "Killer" Tiller, the late-term Wichita abortionist whose arms Shelley Shannon shot, and for which she is doing time in Topeka, has fired his lobbyist and "right hand man", a "man wannabe" according to Regina, Peggy Bowman, for "financial reasons". He said he was going to spend his resources, instead, on his lawsuit against the state of Kansas for passing a partial birth ban, and a parental consent law.

Regina and Kitty said local Planned Murderhood administrator Patty Brous (the one that has just ceased doing abortions) vowed on a radio talk show to "take up the slack". But a news report dated 6/28/98 (source name not given; carried in Henry Felisone's July 10 "Memo") says "Brous said Planned Parenthood would try to take up the slack by sending a lobbyist to Topeka [Kansas] next year but added the group already had its hands full with issues in the Missouri General Assembly."

On the other hand, Regina and Kitty wonder, now that Brous' clinic no longer does abortions, is she hoping for a lobbying job for herself?

The 6/28 article said the official dissolving of the ProChoice Action League would be July 1. "The reason, Bowman said, is that Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller fired her as spokeswoman for him and his Women's Health Care Services clinic. She had held the job for 10 years in addition to her job as the league's leader and lobbyist. Tiller had been a major contributor to her organization. News of the league's demise caught abortion-rights activists off-guard."

The article gave only a clue to the reason: "Kansas' largest abortion-rights group, which for years played a key role in persuading the Legislature to reject restrictive legislation, is folding, in part because of the state's new abortion law."

The rest of the reason: Tiller is suing the state in court to block implementation of the law. Because when the law is implemented, his business will be nearly gone, since the late term abortions which the law criminalizes are most of his lucrative business. Until now he has spent much to keep the legislature from passing such a law. But now that the legislature has acted, what further use is there for more lobbying? And what further need has he for a public relations spokesperson, which was Bowman's other job? Tiller's time is short. To continue drawing the devil's salary, he must pour everything he has into court battles to block implementation of the law.

Kitty Coons, Regina Dinwiddie's mother, said she was almost disappointed when she went down to picket the first Saturday in June and was informed they were no longer doing abortions!

Gene Fry was nearly the only other picketer there, and he hadn't heard the news either. He learned from the husband of a clinic worker, dropping off his wife, who told Gene as he tried to witness, "you don't know what you're talking about. They aren't even doing abortions here any more." Koon and Fry, not convinced, continued picketing, and when Gene tried to pass literature from an emerging customer, he was told "Oh, I don't need that. They aren't even doing abortions there." They continued still, but saw no more customers coming in, and finally left.

NOW says "we get along with right to life. We can get along with them for another 25 years." It's "terrorism" they say they can't get along with, Wolf reported. "When are we going to pick up a sword?"

Regina said this won't stop till we do what Scripture demands, in Gen 9:6.

Genesis 9:5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Don't think those who kill serial-child-killer-abortionists are wrong, Dinwiddie said. That isn't murder. When you shed innocent blood, you forfeit the sanctity of your life, and killing you is not murder.

"We used to warn abortionists by telephone. We used to give them the warnings of the Bible. Now we can't do that. That's 'telephone harassment'."

Regina knows from personal experience that babies suffer terribly while they are being torn apart. "Three times I woke up during surgery. The anesthetic paralyzed me so I couldn't scream, but inside I was screaming. Once my husband saw my eyes open and told the doctor I was awake. These little babies don't have anyone sitting beside them telling the doctor they are screaming inside. If you have been in a neonatal unit you know little babies are more sensitive to pain than we are."

Dinwiddie related, "I got an injunctiona against me for telling the truth about Judge Coburn, who fell face down an elevator shaft of a building about to be opened for abortions. He fell face first into feces and druggie needles. That is the judgment of God, for mercilessly sentencing senior citizens to unreasonable jail terms for trying to save lives."

Johnny Brockhoeft said "Compromise won't stop abortion. Nightline asked me a few years ago if I had changed my position. I said 'until they find a way to kill a baby moderately, I'm not going to moderate my position. Or until they can make a baby which is only moderately a human being.'

"I'm not a prolifer, a term used to signal moderation. Abortionists are moderately prolife. When I talk to prolife moderates, even if their only compromise is condemnation of use of force, I tell them the only position between theirs and an abortionist's is degree. Their moderation helps kill babies. Don't let God see us compromise."

Dinwiddie said "A friend calls them 'lowlifers' rather than 'prolifers'. They throw money at the problem. You can call me 'pro-innocent life'. When they see zeal they quench it, because that might stop baby killing, and then their money would stop coming in."

Wolf said "I watched a woman take her daughter inside Planned Parenthood to have her grandchild murdered, this morning, in Des Moines. Even when it is someone else's grandchild, can't we be there on their behalf?"

Brockhoeft clarified, "I'm not calling for people to execute abortionists, by asking you to reject all compromise. First we must reject it from our positions. But our [physical] walk is between each man and God.

"But I don't think you find abortionists who are 100% pro abortion, so they are moderately against abortion, just like prolifers. When you share their positions, you are their accomplices."

Dinwiddie said "Murders are down to 3,600 from 5,000 a day. That is still too many, but the numbers will continue dropping, because they can't get young doctors to do it. All the abortionists are gnarled old men."

Dinwiddie closed with a challenge to listeners who wince at her words: "If you don't like this program, search your heart why. Turn to the Lord, and some day these will be sweet words to your ears."
